Duluth Running Co. Aquathon Series

The Duluth Running Co. Aquathon Series consists of a 1K (.6 mile) swim in Lake Superior followed by a 5K (3.1 mile) run on the Park Point Trails.  We’ve designed our aquathon series to be equal in the time that it will take most athletes to complete each leg, creating a fair playing field for swimmers and runners alike.

Race 1: Thursday, July 11 at 6:30 PM  |  Race 2: Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 PM  |  Race 3: Thursday, July 25 at 6:30 PM  |  Race 4: Thursday, August 1 at 6:30 PM

What is an aquathon?

An aquathon is a multi sport event that includes swimming and running, in either a three leg run-swim-run, or two leg swim-run format. This sport is wildly popular in communities such as Madison, Chicago, and Boulder.

Aquathons offer a unique deviation from triathlons and duathlons in that there is no biking, simply swimming and running. This makes them a great introduction to the elements of triathlon without the initial investment of a bike. For seasoned triathletes they offer a challenging workout with minimal recovery time. They are also a great way for all triathletes to improve their open water swimming skills.
